We are excited to offer you the new release of Finca Dofí 2021 from iconic Spanish winemaker Álvaro Palacios.
Álvaro is one of Spain’s most influential producers. His family comes from Rioja but he decided to go his own way and buy vines in Priorat, relatively unknown at the time. Whether it’s from Finca Dofí, the first vineyard he acquired in 1990, or L’Ermita which is the region’s most famous cuvée, Álvaro makes some of the most sought-after wines in this now highly acclaimed region.
Álvaro’s wines are stunningly elegant and expressive. His focus is Garnacha and Cariñena which are well suited to the rugged terroir. Dofí is from three lieu-dits in Gratallops. Being warm and dry, the 2021 features a higher proportion of Garnacha than normal (90%) with 9% Cariñena and 1% of white grapes.
The 2021 release is defined by its freshness and has been awarded an impressive 96-98 points by Luiz Gutiérrez, potentially the highest ever, and is undoubtedly one of the highlights of this impressive vintage.

‘The more backward of the 2021s was the 2021 Finca Dofí, which was very primary and smelled almost like the fermentation vessels, and it took time in the glass to open up. The blend is higher in Garnacha, and they couldn’t use the Picapoll as it didn’t work well that cool year, so it’s 90% Garnacha, 9% Cariñena and 1% white grapes. It achieved 14.5% alcohol but kept better freshness than in 2020, a constant in the 2021 wines. Very promising’ 96-98 points, Luis Gutiérrez
