Andrew Will, Washington State

‘Classic, age-worthy Bordeaux blends that will stand up with the best’

Jeb Dunnuck

‘Andrew Will in Washington State is making some of the finest to be found in all of North America’

William Kelley

We are pleased to bring you three wonderful wines from Andrew Will in Washington State.

Andrew Will was started in 1989 by winemaker Chris Camarda and is now run by his son Will Camarda. The winery is located on Vashon Island, a short ferry ride from Seattle, but the grapes come from the mainland, across the Cascade Mountains. These very elegant, sumptuous wines are highly rated by the critics.

First up is Involuntary Commitment 2018, consistently ‘one of the best values in the state’ says the Wine Enthusiast. A Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, you’ll find ripe blueberry and smooth blackberry fruits with notes of dark chocolate and a subtle hint of spice. An excellent quaffing wine for the summer, and delicious with all kinds of food, Involuntary Commitment packs a serious punch at just £180.00 per case of 12 bottles in bond on special offer.

We’re also pleased to offer two single vineyards wines: A fantastic vintage, the highly acclaimed, ‘sensational’ 2016 Two Blondes Vineyard Yakima Valley shows incredible depth and elegance. It has a higher percentage of Merlot than normal as it was such a great vintage for this variety.

Lastly, the ‘thrilling’ and multi-layered 2016 Champoux Horse Heaven Hills, from the top terroir in the region, receives 97 points from Jeb Dunnuck. All too attractive now, this ‘brilliant bottle’ will cellar for decades.

All three wines are in stock and available for immediate delivery as single or mixed cases (min. order 6 bottles) – don’t miss out!

2018 Involuntary Commitment, Columbia Valley
£180 per 12 bottle case in bond

‘A field blend from multiple vineyards, the 2018 Columbia Valley Red Wine is 53% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Merlot, aged 11 months in neutral oak. It has a ripe, rounded, herbal style offering beautiful red plum and redcurrant fruits, leafy herbs, tobacco, violets, and cedar aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, with silky tannins and a great finish, it’s a smoking value to enjoy over the coming 5-8 years’ 91 points, Jeb Dunnuck

2016 Two Blondes Vineyard, Yakima Valley
£495 per 12 bottle case in bond

‘Another finest to date is the 2016 Two Blondes Vineyard, which is 60% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Malbec, all aged 18 months in 25% new barrels. This full-bodied, incredibly elegant red offers a great perfume of leafy herbs, tobacco, dark earth, and cassis. It shows remarkable purity and elegance (the hallmark of the vintage), a terrific mid-palate, and a great finish. This is a sensational Yakima Valley Bordeaux blend that needs 3-5 years of bottle age and will evolve for two decades’ 95 points, Jeb Dunnuck

2016 Champoux Vineyard, Horse Heaven Hills
£295 per 6 bottle case in bond

‘One of the finest examples of this cuvée I’ve tasted is the 2016 Champoux Vineyard, which comes from one of the top terroirs in the state and is in the slightly cooler Horse Heaven Hills AVA. The blend in 2016 is 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc, all aged 18 months in just 25% new French oak. Young, full-bodied, and primordial, it has incredible potential but is going to need 4-5 years of bottle age. Thrilling notes of blueberries, cassis, lead pencil shavings, and bouquet garni all define the bouquet and it has remarkable purity and elegance. It picks up more floral and high-toned notes with time in the glass and is a brilliant bottle of wine that will keep for 2-3 decades’ 97 points, Jeb Dunnuck
