2020 Releases from Domaine Laurent Tribut

A small family-run domaine in Poinchy, just to the west of the village of Chablis, Domaine Laurent Tribut produces some of the purest and most elegant wines in the entire region. If you appreciate classic or ‘vrai Chablis’, to quote Stephen Tanzer, you will love these wines.
With just over 7 hectares quantities are small but quality is extraordinary. Laurent’s three daughters continue to do everything by hand. Their approach is similar to Vincent Dauvissat’s, Laurent’s brother-in-law. The wines are matured in old oak barrels adding an extra dimension without dominating the terroir. Characterised by their balance and minerality when young, buyers will enjoy these cuvées with some time in bottle as they have great ageing potential.
In addition to the excellent, recently released 2020 vintage, we are pleased to be able to offer the last few remaining cases of 2018. The 2018s are a reference for ‘classic, artisanal Chablis’ says William Kelley while the 2020s, which are reminiscent of the 2017s, show ‘all the hallmarks of a lovely vintage’.

2018 Chablis Village

‘The Tribut family’s 2018 Chablis Village was showing well, displaying attractive aromas of citrus fruit, white flowers and toasted almonds. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, with good structuring extract and lively acids, concluding with a chalky finish. It had only been racked to barrel a month before I tasted it, so it’s early days to make a definitive pronouncement, but it would appear to be one of the vintage’s success stories’ 89 – 91 points, William Kelley
