The son of the famous Daniel Dampt, Sébastien comes from a long line of growers. Based in Milly, his vineyards are mainly on the west side of the valley giving very energetic and mineral wines, some of the purest expressions of Chablis you can find anywhere.
An excellent year, the 2020 harvest began on August 27th, one of the earliest harvests on record. Top quality fruit resulted in ‘superb’ wines says Sébastien with lovely purity and freshness. Fermented in 100% stainless steel, the Vaillons comes from a south east facing slope with clay-limestone marls and underlying chalk.
An attractive vintage for drinking young whilst offering plenty of ageing potential, the 2020 showed brilliantly at our Burgundy tasting in January with its fresh apple fruit and long mineral finish.
