We are excited to offer you the highly acclaimed 2019 Amon-Ra Shiraz from legendry Barossa winemaker Ben Glaetzer.
 
As always, the fruit was sourced from Ebenezer in the northern Barossa Valley from non-grafted bush trained vines up to 130 years old. The Glaetzers have been working with the same six grower families since the 19th century, so these vines offer a real sense of heritage and place. Minimal intervention results in wines that are balanced and elegant whilst retaining an unmistakably Barossa character. Matured for 16 months in new oak hogshead barrels (95% French and 5% American), the 2019 was bottled unfiltered to allow the complexity of the wine to shine through.
 
The ‘stupendous’ 2018 was always going to be a tough act to follow but this very classic 2019 is ‘full-bodied yet crisp, supple but tight and really long’ says Joe Czerwinski in the Wine Advocate who scores it an impressive 96+ points. ‘The sheer quality and balanced concentration of the fruit was astounding’ says Ben Glaetzer ‘resulting in wines with terrific aromatic lift and freshness’.

This is an impressive wine for sure showcasing Glaetzer’s trademark restraint along with wonderful depth. Approachable now, it will develop beautifully in the cellar over the next twenty years or more.
