Support Following the Valencian Floods
Having witnessed the devastating scenes unfolding in South Eastern Spain, particularly around Valencia, where floods tragically claimed more than 200 lives and left homes, businesses, and farms in ruin. This catastrophe has affected many, including one of our own team members, Olga Sarrión, whose family farm produces the brilliant Mustiguillo wines from this very region.
In light of this, we felt we should act and asked our valued partners, to join us in making a difference. As a team, we committed to helping in the best way we can and Bancroft pledged at least £1 for every bottle of Mustiguillo sold in autumn 2024. The proceeds were donated to a local charity selected by Olga and her family.
As Olga explains, ‘Our winery is located in the town of Utiel, one of the areas most affected by the disaster. It is a town that depends on agriculture, specifically viticulture, and it is home to many of the winery’s workers. For this reason, we have decided to allocate the funds raised to the town of Utiel to help families return to normal life, in gratitude for the effort they have dedicated over many years to the winery and the region’s wine industry.’
