Domaine de Galuval Joins Bancroft
‘We’re delighted to welcome Domaine de Galuval to the Bancroft portfolio, a producer that captures the character and diversity of the Southern Rhône. We look forward to introducing these exceptional wines to our customers.’
James Snoxell, Buying Director, Bancroft Wines
Domaine de Galuval is one of Cairanne’s oldest estates with a history dating back to 1923. Located between the renowned villages of Cairanne and Rasteau in the Southern Rhône, the domaine has earned a reputation for wines that combine purity, precision and a strong sense of place.
The estate’s vineyards span three exceptional terroirs. In the cooler Gayère Valley, marbled clay and limestone soils bring freshness and aromatic complexity to the wines. The rugged slopes of Mount Ventabren, Cairanne’s highest point, contribute energy and finesse, while the stony marl soils of the neighbouring Rasteau hills provide the perfect environment for Mourvèdre and other red varieties to achieve depth, structure and concentration. In the cellar, the philosophy is simple: allow the fruit and terroir to shine. Gentle extraction and carefully judged oak preserve purity and balance, resulting in a range of distinctive wines that stand apart from the crowd. Contemporary and characterful, Galuval offers a compelling new perspective on one of France’s most celebrated wine regions.
