Bancroft Wines appoints new Head of Operations and Regional Sales Manager for the North & Midlands
Jon Worsley, CEO of Bancroft Wines comments: “As part of our long-term strategy, Bancroft has been looking to strengthen the business in sales and operations. I am pleased to announce two recent appointments: David McCowen who joins us as Head of Operations and Jessica Milner who will be championing sales in the North and Midlands.
Operations impacts all aspects of our business and David’s background in the wider drinks industry will be essential to Bancroft’s continued growth. In addition to overseeing Bancroft’s systems, David will be managing our Customer Service and Purchasing teams.
Having added several members to both our London sales team and our Regional Team, we have been interested in building our presence further North. Jessica’s appointment as Regional Sales Manager will help to build existing and new relationships in the On and Off Trade across the North and the Midlands.”
After over a decade in the US drinks business, David McCowen joined the Bancroft team in June 2022. He started his wine and spirits career managing a beloved bar and music venue in Nashville, Tennessee before moving to Seattle, Washington. There, he spent several years at Westland Distillery/Remy-Cointreau before overseeing sales and operations planning for Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits in the Pacific Northwest. Most recently, he was the operations and logistics manager at Bevridge, a spirits start-up, where he established all of the company’s supply chain operations and distribution.
Jessica Milner joined Bancroft in Summer 2022 as part of the company’s strategy to expand the Regional Sales Team. It was while working in marketing for 10 years across a range of industries that she discovered a passion for wine and began her WSET certifications. Jessica pivoted from marketing and into the hospitality industry, working her way up from Junior Sommelier in a Lincoln based restaurant and onto Sommelier at a well-known wine bar. Her enthusiasm for wine is palpable and she gets the most enjoyment from introducing customers to new producers and new wines. At Bancroft, Jessica looks after the growing hospitality industry in the Midlands and the North as well as key retail accounts in the area.
This follows the news of Bancroft’s recent appointment of John Hutton who has joined as a consultant to the sales and buying teams. As the former Managing Director and latterly Chairman of Fields, Morris & Verdin, John has brought a wealth of industry experience to the growing Bancroft Team.
