About Bodegas Emilio

Emilio Lustau has a long history of sherry production dating back to 1896. During the early years, Lustau operated as an ‘Almacenista’ and it wasn’t until 1945 when the family started to commercialise their own brands. Lustau began exporting in 1950 and properly expanded their range in the 1980s, including the introduction of the Almacenista range concept. In 1990 it was bought by the family-owned Louis Caballero group.

Lustau is the only bodega that produces wines in each of the three towns in the Sherry triangle: Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Lustau produces all styles of sherry, from Manzanilla through to Pedro Ximénez, as well as special bottlings, single cask, VOS and VORS sherries and also, uniquely, 3 En Rama bottlings each year.

Bodegas Lustau is considered a world-class benchmark for top-quality wines. Lustau has, over the years, won multiple medals and trophies, including ‘Best Spanish Winery’ and ‘Best Sherry Producer’ at the IWSC and the Len Evans Trophy for consistency (won in 2011 and 2016) at the IWC.
