Finca Decero of Mendoza, Argentina joins the Bancroft portfolio

Bancroft Wines is pleased to announce the latest addition to the growing portfolio, Finca Decero of Mendoza, Argentina. Previously imported by Berkmann Wine Cellars, this new distribution takes immediate effect.

Nick Mason, buyer at Bancroft Wines comments: “We are very delighted to be working with Finca Decero. These hand-made, higher altitude, single-vineyard wines have beautiful depth of fruit, definition, and stylish grace. They are a great example of what can achieved ‘de cero’ (from scratch) and are produced in a proactively sustainable way.”

Stephanie Morton-Small, CCO of Finca Decero comments “We are thrilled to partner with Bancroft Wines and be part of their comprehensive portfolio. As two family-owned businesses, with a focus on sustainability and high-quality wines, this felt like a natural fit. Moving forward, we are excited about the future possibilities of what our new partnership with Bancroft Wines brings and the potential for forging new relationships with UK on and off trade.”

Finca Decero is a highly acclaimed, Swiss family-owned, single-vineyard wine estate located at 1050 metres altitude in the Agrelo sub-appellation of Mendoza in Argentina. Finca Decero’s Remolinos Vineyard has garnered a strong following for silky, elegant, and balanced wines. Nurtured ‘from scratch’, as Decero means, the approach is sensitive to the environment and natural attributes of the unique Remolinos Vineyard. Their focus on sustainability transcends not only vineyard and production methods but also extends to their team and community. Finca Decero’s business social responsibility program has been recognized amongst the foremost of Argentina.

The wines are made from Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Tannat. Finca Decero produces two single-vineyard brands: ‘Decero’ and ‘The Owl & The Dust Devil’ which have garnered international acclaim including Wine Spectator #34 in the Top 100 of 2017, #1 Best New World Cabernet Sauvignon and #2 Top New World Malbec (Wine Spectator 2019), Drinks International Trophy for the most creative wine packaging in the world and a history of 90-95 points across all vintages. The wines are listed in the most prestigious restaurants around the world, including “Top 50”, Michelin Star and Relais & Chateaux. Master Sommelier Keith Goldston recently was quoted on Decero Malbec saying “As sommeliers, we are constantly looking for value — and this single-vineyard malbec from Mendoza belongs in the Sommelier Hall of Fame for always over-delivering.”
