Meeting Sustainability with our New Warehouse

We are pleased to highlight our recent move to a newly purchased and renovated LCB warehouse in Tilbury, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability in wine logistics. The new facility operates on 100% renewable energy and incorporates energy-efficient features such as sensor-controlled lighting and modern insulation, eliminating the need for excessive heating or cooling and significantly reducing energy consumption. In addition, LCB utilises electric forklifts, further minimising environmental impact and eliminating soot and dust on boxes.

As part of our broader sustainability strategy, Bancroft is dedicated to working with logistics and shipping partners who share our commitment to responsible environmental practices. We have requested comprehensive information from all our partners regarding their sustainability initiatives and will continue to collaborate with them to ensure adherence to their commitments while encouraging their more ambitious goals, such as the adoption of wind-powered vessels, the use of freight trains and the rollout of electric delivery vehicles

In addition to our work once the wine arrives at the warehouse, we remain focused on optimising our shipping efficiency. We are prioritising full container loads, maximising pallet usage, and transitioning freight from lorries to more sustainable alternatives such as ships and trains whenever possible.

As you are likely aware, we work with many producers who are practicing organically or biodynamically and for which sustainability is paramount to their ethos. Our goal is to embed sustainable principles at every level of our decision-making process, ensuring we minimise our impact on the environment and help foster a sustainable future. This strategic move to a greener warehouse aligns with our ongoing efforts to reduce our carbon footprint while maintaining the highest standards in wine storage and distribution.
