Château Miraval joins the Bancroft Portfolio

Bancroft Wines is pleased to announce that Provence star Château Miraval has joined the Bancroft Portfolio. The boost to the Provence portfolio is furthered still by the addition of Hect & Bannier.

Nick Mason, buyer at Bancroft Wines comments, “We are delighted to add Miraval to the Bancroft Portfolio. Miraval Rosé is widely recognised across the UK as a quintessentially stylish brand; a ‘Grande Marque’ Provence Rosé – not just for its connection to the Jolie-Pitt family. We welcome the property’s long-term commitment to quality wines and believe this to be a strong addition to our offering.”

Andrew Bayley, UK General Manager for Miraval added, “In conjunction with the release of our latest vintage (just our 8th), the opportunity of working with Bancroft Wines and their customers, to continue to contribute to the success and popularity of Provence Rosé in the UK is very exciting.”

About Château Miraval

Château Miraval is tucked away in its own private valley, in the ancient village of Correns – the first organic village in France – Miraval covers 500 hectares of land in the heart of Provence. The magnificent château is set in an amphitheatre surrounded by ancient woods, olive trees, vineyards, and abundant water supply. Lush wildlife combines with the beautiful Provençal climate and quality Mediterranean lifestyle to reveal an enchanting oasis. Miraval’s exclusive valley location embodies an exceptional terroir. Throughout its history, Miraval has served as the home of the Orsini Prince of Naples, a recording studio where tracks of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” were recorded, and today a partnership between famed families of the wine and film worlds – Perrin and Jolie-Pitt.

The wines produced at Miraval under this partnership have gained many notable plaudits, including being the first Rosé to appear in the Wines Spectator’s top 100, and has quickly become an iconic reference for Provence. In addition to the classic Miraval Rosé a Miraval Blanc (Cotes de Provence) is also produced and the third release of the diffusion wine Studio by Miraval – a reference to the musical heritage of the estate – is also available.

About Hecht & Bannier

The Negociant Eleveur Maison Hecht & Bannier, dedicated to Mediterranean wines, started in 2002. Following visits to hundreds of domaines, days and nights of heated conversations and careful analysis of their blends, Gregory Hecht and François Bannier bottled their first efforts at the end of 2003 which were four cuvées of Southern France appellations. Minervois, Saint Chinian, Faugères and Côtes du Roussillon. Hecht & Bannier represent true quality in the diverse appellations of Roussillon, Languedoc and Provence. Their mantra for all the appellations they produce is “to conserve the typical Mediterranean strength in our wines while preserving balance and crispness.” Their core principles remain unchanged; blending the fruit of several growers within an appellation, long ageing, relentless work on blends allows them to offer – under a single brand – the quintessential expression of each Appellation d’Origine Protégée.
