Tenuta di Collalbrigo

Tenuta di Collalbrigo

Tenuta di Collalbrigo

Collalbrigo is based in its eponymous village, a tiny, rather tumbledown yet charming place. They are the sole residents in this village in the heart of the best vineyards that run between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.

The Consulich family, who were Venetian merchants for centuries, bought the property and vines here in 1938. The winery acts as an office and home for the family. Four generations later, Francesco is gradually handing the reigns to his son Federico. In fact, Federico Consulich went to school in the tiny schoolhouse, very much living and breathing Collalbrigo.

Wines are the product of low-yielding vineyards with vines 25-30 years of age. The wines are quite taut and whippy for Prosecco, with a level of gravitas above the everyday, especially the Rive Extra Brut.

In July 2019, the DOCG area of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene were given the prestigious status of UNESCO World Heritage Site and one month later, Collalbrigo became a `Rive`, the Grand Cru of Prosecco. Collalbrigo is one of these 43 cru designated as exceptional.
