Settimo Pizzolato is the fifth generation of grower at the estate, a man full of charisma and innovative wisdom.

He has moved from making early steps towards organic viticulture and bottling his own wine twenty years ago, fast forward to now, boasting a large winery with a fantastic team exporting all over the world. His wife Sabrina and children Federico and Stefania all work in the business, and their youngest Eduardo is learning English. No pressure Eduardo.

The vines at the Pizzolato estate are on pebbly banks of river deposit, which are irrigated by concrete channels that were put in in the 1950s during Italy's reconstruction post-war. Settimo also has a handful of neighbouring contracted growers that he's worked with for years, all of whom farm organically, and all to his exacting standards.

There are four key ranges. the H-Hero red, white and rosé are meant to reflect that we are all heroes in our everyday lives and deserve something exceptional. They always deliver simple, fresh flavours. Next up are the Pinot Noir and a Pinot Grigio of light brightness, cheery and yet elegant.

The Dragonfly range are no-added-sulphite wines. Settimo has been exporting these for many years now, and they always deliver consistent results, whether you are enjoying them in New York, Tokyo or Seattle. Especially lovely is the Prosecco Spumante Senza Solfiti; a benchmark for the purity of Glera.

The labels are intentionally bold and ‘awakening' – behind them is a mind that constantly wants to improve in terms of winemaking, sustainability and preparation for the future.
