Alex Cady represents the 4th generation to run this family estate. His talent is most visible in his immaculate dry Chenin Blanc 'Cheninsolite', a single vineyard in the Layon that he picks by hand in successive 'tris'. This allows Alex to pick at the moment of perfect maturity, bringing in wines at optimum concentration and ripeness. Fermentation and maturation takes place on its lees in 3-year-old 400 litre double barriques, with a percentage undergoing malolactic fermentation in oak too. He also produces a rich, concentrated - yet delicately balanced - cuvée of Coteaux du Layon.
