Aristos was born out of an ambition to make Chile's top expression of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon from exceptional terroirs. Now run by François Massoc, there are two Chardonnays and two Bordeaux style blends. 100% Chardonnay, Baronesa D'A is from the Limarí Valley just 12 km from the ocean. Ancient granite bedrock, cool temperatures and slow ripening produce a very refreshing wine with a fine mineral character. Barón D'A is sourced from vines in the Andean foothills. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, this smooth textured red has wonderful balance and length. Both wines spend 24 months in French oak barrels. More premium still, Duquesa D'A comes from selected terroirs in Cachapoal. 100% Chardonnay, it displays unparalleled beauty, richness and elegance. Duque D'A is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are planted in the foothills of the Andes, on terraces formed in a riverbed that meanders through the mountains. The vines grow deep into the rich alluvial soils with deposits of sand and minerals giving the wine a remarkably complex character. Again, both wines spend 24 months in French oak barrels. Showing remarkable freshness and finesse, these are some of the finest Chilean wines being produced today. Production is tiny.
