RAAR Wines is the boutique cellar project in South Africa’s renowned Swartland region. True to its name—meaning “rare” or “scarce”—RAAR embodies a spirit of experimentation, celebrating the region’s untamed character through lesser-known varietals and unconventional winemaking. Under the guidance of winemaker Sheree Nothnagel, RAAR explores innovative techniques such as skin contact on white varieties, carbonic maceration, and minimal inter­vention to create wines that are full of character.
