The small and mighty label Marras is led by talented winemaker, Martin Lamprecht. As a one-time student at Cederberg under David Nieuwoudt, and having previously also worked in the Rhône, Martin brings fresh ideas to his current home in the Swartland, a melting pot for hot new talent and South Africa’s

leading region for winemaking and innovation. In his own modest words, “All I really do is take the grapes by their hands and guide them to where they want to be.” Using grapes from the vast plain and the elevated terroir of Piekenierskloof, he makes bright new examples of Chenin, Grenache, and a Shiraz Cinsault blend.
