One of the most famous properties in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Henri Gouges started bottling wine at the domaine in the 1920. Henri’s grandsons, Pierre and Christian, were responsible for carving out the domaine’s reputation for sturdy and long-lived Burgundies. Gregory and Antoine Gouges are the latest generation to make their mark.

They have stayed true to the family’s motto that ‘great wines are made on the vines’ while making a number of changes along the way including softer pressings and a reduction in the use of new wood. The wines retain their
intensity but are silkier and more refined than in the past. All the vines are cultivated organically. In addition to the wines from the domaine, they produce a few cuvées from purchased fruit under the Maison Gouges label.
