Domaine Faiveley covers 120 hectares in some of the most sought-after vineyards in Burgundy, including 12 hectares of Grands Cru vines. Founded in 1825 by Joseph Faiveley, Erwan Faiveley is the seventh generation in charge. Erwan believes that quality comes from the vineyards, so treatments are minimised and yields are kept low. Modern barrel presses, custom wooden vats and long ageing produce deeply flavoured reds and elegant whites. 2023 is the second year that they have followed organic practices across the estate. Harvesting began 5th September in the Côte Chalonnaise, from 6th September in the Côte d’Or. The Chardonnay plots were completed in 3 days and all the Grands Crus were picked between the 11th and 15th. Sunburned berries were removed at sorting but it was a generally healthy crop producing excellent wines with superb balance, between the 2018 and 2022 in style according to the domaine.
