Château Le Pey has a total of 49 hectares of vines and is the oldest and most important property of the Compagnet family. The soil at Château Le Pey is made up of clay and limestone and the vineyards are planted with 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot.
The terroir lends itself to the rich, earthy flavour of the wine and the 12 months ageing in French oak barrels (25% new). This wine has plenty of ripe redcurrant and blackcurrant fruit with oak spice. Full bodied and well balanced, this is a perfect match for red meats and cheeses.
