Domaine AF Gros was  established by Anne-Françoise Gros who inherited vineyards in Savigny, VosneRomanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Echézeaux and Richebourg. Anne-Françoise’s talented daughter and son, Caroline and Mathias, have made a number of innovations in recent years including the introduction of neutral ceramic vessels to enhance the purity of their wines. A green harvest was conducted at the end of July in 2023 with picking starting 8th September. Berries were twice the normal size for a vintage. Healthy fruit enabled them to undertake a strict selection and to increase the proportion of whole clusters to 80% in some cuvées. 50% of the Premier and Grand Crus went into ceramic vessels this year, the rest in wood. In the future they plan to eliminate old wood completely. The results in 2023 are impressive with the wines showing wonderful levels of purity and tension that will enable them to age brilliantly.
