Region: Meursault
A young domaine by name only, as it descends from Domaine Parigot de Meloisey in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, Sébastien Magnien transferred to revamped cellars in Meursault in 2003. Today the property extends over 12 hectares and is managed according to sustainable principles, the whites coming from the Hautes Côtes, Saint-Romain and Meursault and the reds from Volnay, Pommard, Beaune and the Hautes Côtes. A talented young vigneron, Sébastien’s style is true to the most classical Burgundian traditions. With a hands-off approach in the cellar, and a minimalist use of oak that lets the terroir speak for itself, the wines are pure fruited and focused. Sébastien reported an excellent 2020 vintage with picking starting on 22nd August to maintain acidity. The wines have slightly more alcohol than the 2019s but are better balanced due to their freshness.

2020 Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Blanc

A steep, south facing vineyard planted in the 1950s, this has an expansive bouquet of stone fruits with a hint of grapefruit. The palate is fresh and lively with
a delicate white peach note and a touch of apricot ending on a mineral finish. Drink from 2024.
2020 Beaune 1er Cru Les Aigrots Blanc

Neighbouring Clos des Mouches, this vineyard gives wines with real zip and drive. ‘Aigrots’ means a thorny bush, a reference perhaps to the poor soils. Displaying aromas of warm stone fruits and summer flowers, the 2020 is impressively long and energetic. Delicate peach and lemon fruits are balanced by a fresh mineral note. Attractive now, it will age well, too. Drink from 2025.
2020 Meursault Les Grands Charrons

Meursault Les Grands Charrons comes from a single parcel located near the start of the slope. Mouthwatering apple and yellow fruit flavours are balanced by a pithy grapefruit and lemon zest character. Very charming and contained, it will benefit from a few years in bottle. Older vintages develop lovely depths with complex white truffle and almond notes. Drink from 2025.
2020 Hautes-Côte de Beaune Vieilles Vignes Rouge

Planted in the 1960s and 1970s by Sébastien’s grandparents, on limestone terroirs around the village of Meloisey, this has a very appealing nose with pure plum and wild berry scents. On the palate, supple hedgerow fruits are lifted by energetic acidity. Attractive and well done. Drink from 2023.
2020 Beaune Les Bons Feuvres

Les Bons Feuvres has an expansive bouquet of dark cherries and plums. The palate is full of plump juicy fruit with an exotic spice note. Very attractive and
broad textured, this will be wonderful in a year or two. Drink from 2024.
2020 Beaune 1er Cru Les Aigrots Rouge

An impressive wine with great character and depth, cherry and cranberry aromas mingle with scents of alpine herbs. Medium-bodied on the palate, with plenty of structure, luscious raspberry and forest fruits are balanced by a lively mineral note leading to a long finish. Good ageing potential. Drink from 2025.
2020 Pommard Les Perrières

Vibrant and fresh with a firm structure, the nose is generous and appealing combining succulent raspberry and blackberry fruit with a hint of spice. Smooth and ripe on the palate, dark forest fruits and moreish tannins are balanced by a bright redcurrant note. An extremely attractive Pommard worthy of long ageing. Drink from 2025.
