Region: Meursault
Domaine Henri Boillot covers 15 hectares of vines, mostly in Puligny and Meursault for the whites and in Savignylès-Beaunes, Beaune and Volnay for the reds. These days, Henri’s son, Guillaume, is taking on an increasingly important role in the management of the estate. The superb quality and precision of these wines is testament to the family’s dedication and focus. Highly meticulous in their approach, they follow sustainable methods and pick early to retain freshness. In the cellar, white berries are whole bunch pressed before fermentation in 350 litre barrels. Harvest started early on 19th August in 2020. A no expenses spared approach, along with low yields and a slight reduction in new oak, has produced another spectacular vintage with some of the purest and most energetic wines we tasted.

2020 Bourgogne Blanc

Punching well above its weight, this impressive Bourgogne Chardonnay comes from parcels in Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint Romain and Auxey-Duresses. 5% is matured in new oak, the rest in older barrels. Vibrant and elegant, with refreshing stone fruit flavours, this will be delicious from release. Drink from 2022.

This is an immensely refreshing Meursault with a bright citrus bouquet. An energetic palate of green apples and quince is underscored by a lively mineral quality. From five parcels (Narvaux, Tillets, Limosin, Chevalières, Petits Charrons), it shows incredible precision and style. Drink from 2024.
2020 Meursault 1er Cru Clos Richemont – Monopole

A recently purchased monopole vineyard, this is only their second vintage. Very pure, with aromatic citrus and smoky oyster shell notes, the palate is bright and energetic with vibrant lemon and stone fruits. Elegant and classy, this is a wine to follow. Drink from 2025.

An exceptional Genevrières, this has a bouquet of freshly cut green apples and limes with a flintyoyster shell note. It shows great tension and length on the palate with pure citrus fruit and an impressive mineral finish. Could do with a few years in bottle. Drink from 2026.
2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchère

An enclosure within Les Perrières, ‘Mouche’ being an old Burgundian word for ‘bee, Mouchère is whollyowned by the Domaine. 80-year-old vines bring great intensity of flavour. Richly textured, yet with fantastic precision, white peach and juicy stone fruit flavours are balanced by a zingy freshness. It shows lovely
balance and tension with a long, scented finish. Drink from 2026.
2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles

An exceptional site, this is even more expressive than the Genevrières. A bright bouquet of freshly cut lemons and summer flowers with a hint of oyster shell, leads to an extremely focused, intense and pure palate. Bursting with energy, this complex and delicately balanced wine will benefit from a few more years in bottle. Drink from 2027.
2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

Fruit from several small plots is blended to create a wine of great complexity. On the nose, bright citrus and white stone fruits mingle with subtle scents of white smoke and delicate spices. On the palate, crystal clear citrus fruit leads to an incredibly refreshing finish. Shows wonderful intensity and vibrancy. Drink from 2029.

This appealing and expressive Bourgogne has a delicate bouquet of violets and forest fruits. Refreshing red cherries fill the mouth supported by smooth, mineral tannins. Drink from 2022.

Showing lifted aromas of cherries and cassis, with crunchy raspberry and dark strawberry fruits on the palate, the 2020 is elegantly balanced with invigorating acidity and smooth tannins. Displaying more precision than previous vintages, there is lovely definition on the long finish. Drink from 2025.
