The philosophy of this estate is founded on finding a balance between the modern tendency for fruit driven wines and Rioja's traditional, more savoury and rustic style. All the wines here walk that tight line to great effect. The barrel-fermented Rioja Blanco is a succulent and rich white with detectable notes of citrus, a tinge of mandarin fruit and a touch of oak which rounds the wine out. The Crianza comes from the chalky, ferrous clay soils of Rioja Alta. It is 100% Tempranillo agedfor 12 months in new French and American oak barrels (and an extra 12 months in bottle), producing a wine brimming with soft, ripe fruit and excellent structure. The Reserva, on the other hand, undergoes 24 months in oak resulting in more aged aromas of tobacco and toast overlayed with berry fruit flavours. It ends with a long, satisfying finish.
