Château de Berne

Château de Berne

Château de Berne

  • France Provence
A historical property dating back to the 11th century with over three centuries of winemaking tradition, Château de Berne covers over 500 hectares of land, of which about 130 hectares are vineyards. In addition to the modern winemaking facilities, the estate is famous for their 5-star Relais & Châteaux hotel & Michelin Star restaurant, making it a major tourist destination in Provence.

Located in the inland Haut Var, Chateau de Berne`s slightly higher altitude and diurnal range, as well as poor limestone soils, make it one of the best areas in Provence to produce premium rosé. The estate uses around ten grape varieties to blend its wines. Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Sémillon, Ugni-Blanc, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Rolle and Mourvèdre. All rosés are fermented in ultra-modern stainless-steel tanks and top cuvées are matured in oak barrels. Already recognised for their commitment to sustainability, they are currently in conversion to organic production.
