About the Wines

Brut Sparkling, Charmat Method, Kingscote Estate 2018
West Sussex, England

A Bacchus dominant Charmat method sparkling, blended with Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Regent – the latter of which provides the gorgeous blush colouring. Raspberry, strawberry and peach on the nose and palate, with round soft flavours. There is a brightness to the palate and finish.

Petit Chablis, Domaine du Colombier 2018
Chablis, France

Domaine du Colombier has been a family property since 1887, handed over several generations. All grapes are handpicked and aged 6 months on stainless steel tanks. Bright pale gold colour, white flowers & citrus fruits over a mineral base with plenty of freshness.

Macon-Villages Tradition, Domaine Des Deux Roches 2019
Burgundy, France

There’s something to be said for a wine you can rely on. Jean-Luc Terrier and Christian Collovray are a very dependable address consistently producing well-made Mâcons. There is a floral note followed by yellow fruits – think peach and apricot – and a subtle, pastry-like richness.

BOB Short for Kate Sauvignon Blanc, Glover Family Vineyards 2019
Marlborough, New Zealand

The Sauvignon Blanc from superstar winemaker Ben Glover; The name `BOB` Short for Kate references his family`s love of the television show Blackadder. An elegant example of Marlborough Sauvignon, showing white peach, melon, citrus fruits and subtle tropical notes. Lean yet succulent, savoury and mouth-watering, with a long finish.

Beaujolais-Villages, Domaine Alexandre Burgaud 2019
Beaujolais, France

A stunning example, Alexandre Burgaud’s Beaujolais Village undergoes semi-carbonic vilification to ensure the brightness of fruit so associated with the region. Raspberry, tart cherries and a touch of violet on the nose, these same notes carry through to the palate. There is a fine vein of freshness to the finish, which continues to burst with flavour.

Château Lucas, Lussac-Saint-Émilion 2015
Bordeaux, France

An elegant and silky Bordeaux with notes of juicy plum, raspberry and vanilla. Pure with a velvety structure and beautiful finish. This wine proves there are excellent Bordeaux’s to be found at a reasonable price in this region.

Cahors Cèdre Heritage Malbec, Château du Cèdre 2018
South West, France

Pascal and Jean-Marc Verhaeghe produce excellent Malbec from these established vineyards. Drawing on his winemaking experience from California to Burgundy, Pascal delicately chisels wines of great elegance, rounding them off with judicious ageing in new oak barriques. This is a fresh and enlivening organic Cahors, with generous flavours and made from a blend of 95% Malbec and 5% Merlot grapes. Showing flavours of plums, cherries and blackberries and spices, with a long finish.

Valpolicella Classico Lena di Mezzo, Monte del Frà 2019
Veneto, Italy

From the terraced vineyards of Lena Di Mezzo in North Italy. An intense, rich red with notes of cherries (both fresh and under spirits), plums and liquorice; accompanied by spices such as pepper and warm cinnamon. Pleasantly fruity and well-balanced with a velvety soft structure.

Cabernet Shiraz, Hartenberg Wine Estate 2017
Stellenbosch, South Africa

The Cabernet Shiraz is synonymous with Hardenberg. Vivid purple-red in colour, with ripe berry fruits on the bouquet and hits of forest floor and sweet spice. The palate reveals juicy, crunchy fruit, soft gentle tannins and a velvety, elegant finish. Vibrant red fruit, plums and cassis aromas from the Cabernet Sauvignon combine well with black pepper undertones from the Shiraz. It can age for 10 years from vintage.

Al-Muvedre Tinto, Telmo Rodríguez 2017
Alicante, Spain

Al-Muvedre is a monovarietal wine from Monastrell. It represents the spirit of the Mediterranean, that more southern and luminous expression which Monastrell manages to offer in a unique way. Delightful flavours of dark fruits (plum, blueberries, blackberries) accompanied by smoky, earthy notes.

Monbazillac, Domaine de L`Ancienne Cure 2017
South West, France

This aromatic, complex and sweet organic Monbazillac is made from a blend of hand-harvested Sémillon and Muscadelle grapes. Aromas of dried fruit, white peach and honey, this is rich and generous with a full texture, fresh and lively fruit and with a long honeyed finish. Pairs really well with pâté, blue cheese, or fruit desserts.

Maury Vintage, Mas Amiel 2016
Languedoc-Roussillon, France

From the tiny appellation of Maury in the very south, made entirely from Grenache, an intense wine bursting with fruit alcohol and sweetness all wrapped up in soft tannins. Made from low-yielding old vines. Powerful aromas of blackberry fresh fig and spice followed by vanilla and liquorice. Rich palate and an impressive fruit-laden finish. Ready to drink now but will also develop further for many years. A sweet red that is the ideal dessert wine for chocolate or cheeses.
