About the Wines
Rosat Herència Altés 2019
Terra Alta, Spain
The Herència Altés Rosé from Spain’s wild Terra Alta region has a bright salmon pink colour and a delicate floral bouquet. Old Garnacha vines give this classic an extra layer on the palate. Delicate strawberry and raspberry flavours combine with lovely wild herb notes, a great combination with dried meats and local cheeses.
Côtes du Rhône Réserve Blanc Grand Veneur 2018
Rhône Valley, France
A refreshing blend of local grape varieties, including Roussane and Viognier, Domaine Grand Veneur’s Côtes du Rhône Réserve Blanc has a bouquet of stone fruits and flowers with white peach flavours and a mineral finish – ideal with hearty salads and seafood.
4 20 Pecorino Torri Cantine 2019
From 30 year old vineyards planted halfway between the Adriatic and the Gran Sasso of Italy’s Abruzzo region, the 4 20 Pecorino by Torri Cantine has at once great ripeness and underlying freshness. The natural approach to winemaking shines through on a vibrant red apple palate. Goes well with hard cheeses including, unsurprisingly, Pecorino, so the obvious match is Cacio e Pepe.
‘BOB’ Short for Kate Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Marlborough, New Zealand
Our offering from New Zealand is a Sauvignon Blanc from superstar winemaker Ben Glover; The name ‘BOB’ Short for Kate references his family’s love of the television show Blackadder. An elegant example of Marlborough Sauvignon, showing white peach, melon, citrus fruits and subtle tropical notes. Lean yet succulent, savoury and mouth-watering, with a long finish.
Les Piliers de Maison Blanche 2015
Château Maison Blanche Les Piliers de Maison Blanche from Montagne-Saint-Emilion is a refined blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. From the excellent 2015 vintage, it also has the advantage of some bottle maturity. Aromas of cassis and dark berry fruits lead to a rounded palate with supple blackberry and plum flavours and a delicate spice note
Carmenere Nuevo Mundo Estate 2016
Maipo Valley, Chile
Moving to Chile, the Maipo Valley is one of the best places to grow vines in the world and this is where the De Martino family started their now-famous Nuevo Mundo winery. They produce several single varietal wines including this lovely Carmenere which has notes of red pepper and spice on the nose and vibrant red berry fruits on the palate.
