Bandol Rosé, Domaine Terrebrune 2021
Domaine Terrebrune makes serious, gastronomic and age-worthy rosés, a far cry from some of the region’s simpler, more ‘frivolous’ wines. This is owing to a large proportion of Mourvedre in the blend, lending structure and depth of flavour. Pale salmon in colour, the nose displays aromas of wild strawberry and pink grapefruit with a subtle hint of fennel. This is a textural, savoury and structured rosé; on the palate it shows grapefruit pith and kumquat on entry and then creamy rhubarb pie notes on mid-palate. The finish is refreshing, long and precise. Perfect for drinking now (and especially with a meal) but this there is plenty of depth and focus here to allow for ageing.
