Bacchus Block, Lyme Bay 2020
These grapes – sourced from two fine vineyard blocks in Essex – showed exceptional intensity and ripeness on arrival at the winery and were separated as a premium offering by the Lyme Bay winemaking team.
An intense nose with endless layers of gooseberry, pineapple, blackcurrant leaf and lime. The palate is beautifully balanced wie with excellent structure and a smooth mouthfeel. Steely lime peel continues into a finish that just keeps on going. Quite a rich nose, you could almost be on the Loire, soft fruits, nettles, whilst the palate is grippy, concentrated, and lip smacking. This is certainly Bacchus at its best.
